Cliff Opdyke, Ph.D., has joined Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC, as a risk assessor and senior scientist. Cliff is located in Alpharetta Georgia and will work with Hana’s customers and clients across the U.S.

Cliff comes to Hana with more than 30 years of experience, primarily in the federal sector, most recently serving as Risk Assessment Team Leader for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore District. Cliff has prior experience with USACE Louisville District, USACE New England District, Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Region 4.

Cliff’s experience includes implementation and development of complex risk assessment solutions using research and analysis for internal and external stakeholders. He also has served in top leadership roles, including representing the government as a co-chair on a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) for Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) and Quality Control Manager for the Nationwide Per- and Poly-Fluorinated Substances (PFAS) Preliminary Assessment (PA)/Site Inspection (SI) program, which included completion of assessments at 106 Army installations nationwide.

Cliff holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in biology from Emory University in Atlanta where he studied neurophysiology. He also has served as a post-doctoral fellow with Georgia State University.
