Hana Engineers and Consultants has added a highly skilled and experienced environmental scientist to the company’s growing team of professionals. Loretta “Lori” Reardon has joined Hana as an independent Senior Consultant affiliated with Hana’s headquarters in Richmond, VA.
Lori’s career spans more than 25 years, primarily in the federal sector, serving in a variety of roles. Her experience includes complex problem solving and project management for conservation, compliance, energy management, and restoration environmental programs.
Before joining Hana, Lori served as the National Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) program director for Army Secretariat. As a Special Assistant to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (ODASA), Lori drove national PFAS strategy development, integration, and communication throughout the entire organization to address topics including supply chain, munitions and chemical matters, drinking water, human health, compliance, data management/analytics, technology, and remediation.
This included regular coordination with high-level officials from various government organizations to resolve conflicts regarding complex items such as those with shifting regulatory/statutory climate, with high Congressional interest, or requiring broad stakeholder collaboration.
Previously, she served as Acting Chief, Environmental Restoration Branch for the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, directing professional scientific personnel engaged in staff functions supporting Army commands, installations, facilities, programs, and activities; PFAS Program Lead for the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, developing environmental program methods and procedures that are used throughout organization; Deputy Product Lead for Headquarters Army Environmental System, responsible for all aspects of acquisition including development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million-dollar annual budget; among many other positions in the federal government and private sector.
Lori is a Harvard Senior Executive Fellow and holds a Master of Science degree in biology and a bachelor’s in environmental science from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
At Hana, Lori will be using her extensive experience in providing creative solutions to complex problems by building and communicating scientifically based recommendations for the company’s environmental and emerging contaminant programs, community outreach and public service projects, and enhancing the company’s business development team.
“The ability of Hana Engineers and Consultants to attract someone of Lori’s caliber, with talent and skill grounded by extensive foundational experience, sets the stage for more opportunities to serve our clients and customers,” said Hana President H. Marcus Kim. “We’re looking forward to seeing how Lori’s input shapes our projects and provides solutions as the Hana Team continues on a trajectory of excellence.”
