Dissolved Oxygen Plant Infrastructure Design
Hana supported GHD and USACE to provide hydrogeological and geotechnical engineering support for two dissolved oxygen (DO) plants along the Savannah River to improve plant operations and efficiency. The new design includes a deep water well with hydropneumatics tanks and a modular restroom/break room building to be built at each plant. The Upriver and Downriver DO plants were developed for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP) which is deepening the harbor to allow for modern, larger container vessels. The plants will mitigate the environmental impact of the deepening of the harbor by providing more DO for marine life.
