Christina Jettie, an environmental engineer with Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC in North Charleston, has been named to the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s 2022 Class of Forty Under 40.
Senior Engineer Christina Jettie has been named to the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s 2022 Class of Forty Under 40.
The annual awards program recognizes 40 young business professionals across the Charleston region who excel professionally and in service to their community.
Jettie has been a project engineer with Hana since 2016 and has more than a decade of experience as an engineer, previously working as an environmental engineer with Arcadis and serving with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers while earning a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. She also holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering from Clemson University.
Christina was the first full-time employee at Hana Engineers and Consultants, which now has a staff of 22 with offices in Richmond, Va., and North Charleston. Christina established and manages the North Charleston office for Hana and is a licensed Professional Engineer in 10 states.
She has worked on projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Defense Logistics Agency, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, National Guard Bureau, Smithsonian Institution, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Marine Corps, among others.
Christina has been a member of the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) Charleston Post since 2014, serving as a board member since 2019. As a young engineering professional, Christina helps students excel in the sector while gaining hands-on mentorship and experience with engineering firms across the Southeast. In April 2022, Christina organized the SAME Charleston Post Industry Day, which raised more than $18,000 for STEM scholarships, supporting students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math career paths.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Forty Under 40, which honors 40 elite individuals who have demonstrated professional excellence, led community efforts for positive change and made an impact that reaches far beyond the Forty Under 40 honor.
This year’s class will be recognized at a special event from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at the Charleston Gaillard Center.
