Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking a full-time head driller to support our environmental investigation, monitoring, and remediation programs. This position will report to our Hadensville, VA, location.

Core Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Proficiently operate a sonic rig, a rotary rig (Hollow stem auger, mud rotary, and air rotary), and/or a Geoprobe to conduct subsurface investigations and environmental drilling.
  • Lead a team of drilling technicians, providing guidance, training, and oversight to ensure efficient and safe drilling operations.
  • Equipment maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Identify and troubleshoot any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including daily logs, sample data, and equipment maintenance records.

Specific Qualifications:

  • Licensed or ability to be licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Maryland.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a head driller in environmental and geotechnical drilling.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be willing to work in various weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, including overnight travel.
  • Must be able to work independently and in small teams.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Must be able to complete a federal background check.
  • Must be able to complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma required. Additional certifications in drilling operations or related fields are a plus.
