Tidewater Community College Real Estate Foundation Environmental Investigations

Hana is providing environmental engineering and consulting services to the Tidewater Community College Real Estate Foundation (TCCREF) at the Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot (FNOD), a formerly used defense site (FUDS). FNOD is listed on the National Priorities List (NPL), which is a list of sites that U.S. Environmental Protection Act (USEPA) prioritizes for cleanup. TCCREF owns a parcel of land that lies within the FNOD footprint and is interested in expediting cleanup (e.g., soil removal) to prepare the property for future development. Hana recently completed a Soil Excavation and Removal Action for contaminated soil and abandoned structures at three Areas of Concern within TCCREF’s property.
