Environmental Remediation Services at Tobyhanna Army Depot

Hana is providing environmental remediation services at four sites at TYAD, the largest full-service electronics maintenance facility in the DoD. All the work is being completed in accordance with CERCLA. Hana has been tasked with performing any necessary Remedial Action – Operations (RA-O) and Long-Term Management (LTM) with the ultimate goal of Site Closure (SC). Hana is also currently completing an environmental investigation at a site with groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents and metals. The main goal of the investigation is to further refine the plume boundaries and define the contamination source. Hana utilized a FACT-FLUTe activated carbon liner in the source area. Using this technology, high resolution data was acquired with samples collected every two (2) feet. With this detailed data, Hana was able to design nested wells using the FLUTe system. Four wells were installed in one borehole saving costs to the government without the need to drill multiple boreholes. Quarterly groundwater monitoring is being conducted and the results will be presented in a Data Gap Investigation and Risk Assessment Report followed by a Conceptual Site Model Report, Feasibility Study, Proposed Plan, and Decision Document.
