Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking a full-time head driller to support our environmental investigation, monitoring, and remediation programs. This position will report to our Hadensville, VA, location.
Core Roles/Responsibilities:
- Proficiently operate a sonic rig, a rotary rig (Hollow stem auger, mud rotary, and air rotary), and/or a Geoprobe to conduct subsurface investigations and environmental drilling.
- Lead a team of drilling technicians, providing guidance, training, and oversight to ensure efficient and safe drilling operations.
- Equipment maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Identify and troubleshoot any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including daily logs, sample data, and equipment maintenance records.
Specific Qualifications:
- Licensed or ability to be licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Maryland.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a head driller in environmental and geotechnical drilling.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work in various weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work extended hours, including overnight travel.
- Must be able to work independently and in small teams.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must be able to complete a federal background check.
- Must be able to complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma required. Additional certifications in drilling operations or related fields are a plus.
